Gorillas & Golden Monkeys

Day 1-2: Entebbe

Arrival at Entebbe International Airport. Note: We have a dedicated flight partner who can help find and book the best international flights for you.

On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your accommodation, settling in after your flight. 

Overnight: Karibu Entebbe (1 night)

Day 2-4: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, you'll be transferred to Entebbe Airport to check in for your domestic flight to Kihihi Airstrip, the gateway to the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. You'll be collected from the airstrip and taken to your lodge for lunch.

Following lunch, you will have time to freshen up before commencing the Batwa Community Walk. This three-hour Community walk unveils the local people living close to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest plus their culture. You will gain knowledge of their cultural ways including locally made arts & crafts, dances, traditional cooking, and herbal medicines. At the end of this walk you will meet the Batwa People, the original inhabitants of Bwindi Forest. 

Overnight: Haven Lodge (2 nights)

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking

Today you have a thrilling wildlife experience: Gorilla Trekking. Your morning starts with breakfast and a short briefing at the park HQ. You'll then set off deep into the forest searching for your allocated gorilla family. Spend 1 magical hour with them, before heading back to your lodge for lunch and an afternoon at leisure. 

Day 4-6: Lake Mutanda

Today you will depart Bwindi and travel to Lake Mutanda via Ruhija. Enjoy lunch en route whilst taking in the stunning scenery of Ruhija forest and the beautiful rolling hills of Kabale. This evening experience a relaxing boat ride on Lake Mutanda. 

Overnight: Mutanda Lake Resort (2 nights)

Day 5: Golden Monkey Tracking

After an early breakfast, you'll set out on a half-day Golden Monkey tracking experience. Following a brief orientation, you'll begin your hike in Mgahinga National Park, searching for these lively primates. Unlike gorillas, these monkeys are generally more active, allowing you to follow them as they move and feed. You'll spend an incredible hour with the golden monkeys before descending and returning to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a canoeing excursion on Lake Mutanda, returning to your lodge in time to freshen up before dinner. 

Day 6: Return Home

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airstrip and board the return light aircraft flight back to Entebbe Airport where our services will end.
