Uganda in December
As the rains pass, the sun emerges from the clouds, casting warm rays across the emerald plateaus. The dry season returns, and with it perfect conditions for trekking and safaris.
Is December a good time to visit Uganda?
By December much of the rains that characterised October and November have passed, and conditions across the country are perfect. All parks are open and accessible, and the country retains its verdant beauty following the short rainy season.
The ground underfoot starts to dry out, making for excellent conditions for gorilla trekking and chimpanzee trekking. Gorillas typically head for higher ground in December, so the treks are usually longer.
December is a particularly busy time to travel as Ugandan families are on holiday, as are international arrivals looking to get away over Christmas and New Year. If you want to travel in December, you'll need to book well in advance.
