Is February a good time to visit Uganda?

Throughout February, average temperatures in Uganda are around 25 °C, making it one of the hottest months of the year.

The north of the country is particularly dry and arid, so most visitors keep south during the dry season. The reduction in rainfall brings the wildlife to the remaining watering holes, meaning February offers some of the best game viewing in Uganda.

Visitor numbers are slightly lower than in December and January, so hotel and lodge rates can be lower. If you want to visit the gorillas or chimps, permits will sell out quickly for December - February, so you'll need to book well in advance.
