This trip can work as a standalone adventure, or in combination with other destinations in Uganda. The itinerary below starts and ends in Entebbe, but we can arrange transfers to and from the mountains no matter where you are coming from. 

The itinerary can be customised to suit your fitness levels, time constraints, budget, and wider travel plans.

Start from Entebbe and end at Entebbe

Day 1: Entebbe

Fly into Entebbe International Airport. Upon arrival, clear Immigration, collect your luggage and leave the airport to meet  a driver for the  transfer to Karibu Guest House. Relax and spend the night preparing for the adventure to come.

Overnight: Karibu Guesthouse

Day 2: Rwenzori Mountains

Transfer back to the airport for the early morning scheduled light aircraft flight from Entebbe to Kasese. Your driver will meet you a and transfer you to Trekkers Hostel, Kilembe, the base camp at 1450m. Here you will receive your trek briefing from the guides and start the trek to Sine Camp at 2596m, giving you an altitude gain of 1146m. 

Overnight: Sine Camp

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 3: Rwenzori Mountains

This morning, after a nourishing breakfast, hike to Kalalama camp through the Bamboo and Heather-Rapanea Zone, following the trail as it meanders up and over several small knolls along a ridge top before dropping down the side of the valley. Cross several small streams; pass close to moss covered waterfalls with unique plant species found above 3000m. You'll see Giant Heather trees whose trunks are covered in green moss with old man beards (Usnea lichen) hanging from the branches. Descend to Samalira Camp where you will spend the night. 

Overnight: Sine Camp

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 4: Kasese

Descend this morning across beautiful forests back to the base camp in Kilembe. After the debrief, transfer to the Sandton Hotel,  Kasese, for a relaxing evening.

Day 5: Entebbe

After breakfast, the driver will transfer you to Kasese Airstrip for your morning flight to Entebbe, arriving at 11:25am and connect with your international flight home.
