Itinerary

Day 1: Entebbe

International flight into Entebbe Airport. Upon landing, clear Immigration and collect your luggage before leaving the airport to meet your driver by the terminal doors. 10 minute transfer to your hotel where you will spend the night. 

Overnight: Karibu Guest House

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner


Day 2: Murchison Falls

After a good night's sleep and breakfast, you will be met by your guide to begin your safari. Drive north through a beautiful and varied landscape to Murchison Falls National Park, a journey of (350kms/6-7hrs). En route, visit the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

Together with a guide you can track the rhinos and observe them in their habitat at a close (but safe) distance. Have lunch at the Rhino sanctuary before pressing on to Murchison Falls National Park. 

A further one hour drive into the park takes you to the Murchison Falls that give the park its name. Take in the incredible sight of the falls and jump on a bot safari that takes you down stream to you lodge, the beautifully located Bakers Lodge.

Day 3: Murchison Falls

After an early breakfast, start the day with a game drive on the northern bank of the Nile. You'll likely see Rothschild giraffes, elephants, lions, Jackson hartebeest, oribis, waterbucks, different species of savannah woodland birds. If you're lucky, you might even find the elusive leopard lurking in the bushes. 

In the afternoon, enjoy a Nile cruise to the bottom of the falls for game viewing at close quarters. Disembark at the base of the falls and hike up to the top of where you're rewarded with amazing views of the Nile. Meet your guide for a transfer back to your lodge.

Day 4: Murchison Falls

After an early breakfast, take a short 45 minute drive to the Budongo Forest Reserve on the edges of Murchison. There will be an 8am briefing with your chimpanzee trekking guides before you enter the forest. Sightings are guaranteed, but are common. You will spend an hour with the chimps before returning to base. Spend the afternoon at leisure or head out on a game drive.

Day 5: Kidepo National Park

Your driver will meet you at your hotel and  take you to Bugungu Airstrip for the scheduled flight to Kidepo Valley National Park. On arrival you will be met by the lodge safari guide from Apoka Safari Lodge where you will stay for the next three nights. All safari activities and timings are managed by the lodge, but you’ll most likely take a late-afternoon safari drive in the park.

Day 6: Kidepo National Park

A full day dedicated to exploring the untamed wilderness of Kidepo. This is the Africa of our imagination. You’ll have two safari excursions each day – the lodge guide and managers will discuss the details and timings of these with you.

Overnight: Apoka Lodge

Day 7: Kidepo National Park

Another full day exploring Kidepo. 

Overnight: Apoka Lodge

Day 8: Entebbe

After breakfast, catch a flight back to Entebbe. This is scheduled for 09:10,however internal flight departure times can vary day-to-day so the lodge will advise the night before the exact check-in time. Your driver will meet you on the other side and transfer you to Karibu Entebbe for the night. 

Overnight: Karibu Guest House

Day 9: Return Home

Transfer to the international airport to catch your international flight home.
