Why We Like This Lodge

  • Great for socializing: A fully stocked bar, restaurant, communal campfire and barbecue area make it easy to spend time with family and meet other like-minded travellers.
  • Superb Location: Located in the heart of Murchison Falls National Park near the Nile river, Red chilli is a fantastic spot to start a game drive or head out on a Nile river cruise.
  • Game drives: lovingly referred to as ‘The Giraffe’, Red Chilli has a fully open safari vehicle for hire, where you won’t have to comprise your view, even if you get stuck in the back seats.
  • An authentic safari experience at a great price: Red Chilli Rest Camp is one of the few low budget accommodations located inside the park, so you can still wake up to the sounds of the savannah knowing you have caught a great deal.

The Acommodation

Red Chilli Rest Camp offers a selection of low to mid-range accommodation options which include furnished safari tents and bandas (small individual houses) and a camping ground.

The cheaper alternatives will have shared toilets and showers.

Electricity is supplied by a generator three times a day. In the morning and afternoon there is power for a couple of hours each, and then in the evening for about four hours. This is the best time to charge your phone, camera and other electronics.

However, there is light all day and the family bandas will also have fans on during non-generator times.
